The classic sitcom Friends will mark 25th anniversary of its premiere. On September, 22nd, 1994, the show was aired for the first time and soon made itself known all over the world. Since then, the enthusiasm for the show never stopped.

Friends was nominated for 62 Primetime Emmy Awards and won the Outstanding Comedy Series award in 2002 for its eighth season. The series also won an American Comedy Award, one GLAAD Media Award, one Golden Globe Award, three Logie Awards, six People's Choice Awards, one Satellite Award, and one Screen Actors Guild Award. The show became available on Netflix from January 1, 2015, in a deal said to be worth $120 million in total.

Janice is definitely one of the most outstanding guest actresses in Friends. Her ear-piercing voice can always catch the audience attention. “Oh my god” is kind of a punch line in Friends, although this line is not from a leading actress. Janice marks her emotional and outgoing personality by “Oh my god”.

Chandler and Monica are in love and at first, they keep it from everyone. When Joey, Rachel and Phoebe all know their relationship, Rachel decides to play a joke with them because “they don’t know we know”. Phoebe then pretends to flirt with Chandler, and then Monica soon realizes that they know. Monica fights back because “they don’t know we know they know”. She asks Chandler to respond to Phoebe’s love signal. At first, Rachel is furious because she could not believe Chandler betrays Monica so quickly, and then she also realizes that “they know we know”. However, the “fight” has begun, so she decides not to stop the joke because “they don’t know we know they know we know”.

Seven Classic Lines in Friends

We were on a break. -- Ross

They don’t know we know they know we know. – Rachel

He is her lobster. – Phoebe

It is no doubt that Joey is a foodie. Although he enjoys being accompanied by beautiful women, his passion is more for food. Joey has to try very hard to restrain his anger when the woman dating with him tastes his dessert. Joey even breaks up with her after the sexy woman tries to persuade him into accepting that food sharing is a good thing. Rachel is not surprised when she hears the news, because Joey has warned Emma, Rachel’s daughter, not to touch his food.

Monica tips Chandler about how a man can make the woman really enjoy the sex when he dates with Kathy. There have been countless discussions about what parts these numbers exactly represent. Of course, there is no model answer now. It is believed that the discussion will go on as Friends still charms the audience.

Joey is really great at flirting with women. That is absolutely Joey’s sentence to signify that he is on fire to show his charm and tires to make the woman fall in love with him. The actor Matt LeBlanc, who plays Joey in Friends, is often asked to show Joey’s line in daily life. In another show, Episode, he reappears the funny scene. A tourist group goes around the Beverly Village and meets with Matt LeBlanc. The guide says we are so lucky today. All members in the group ask Matt to say his line, and cheer, even applause after Matt’s saying “How you doing”.

Now, everybody knows the basic erogenous zones. You got one, two, three, four, five, six, and seven. ... OK, now most guys will hit one, two, three and then go to seven and set up camp. ... You want to hit 'em all and you wanna mix 'em up. You gotta keep 'em on their toes. ... You could start out with a little one. A two. A one, two, three. A three. A five. A four. A three, two. Two. A two, four, six. Two, four, six. Four. Two. Two. Four, seven! Five, seven! Six, seven! Seven! Seven! Seven! Seven! Seven! Seven! Seven! Seven! Seven! [holds up seven fingers] – Monica

On September, 19, 2019, Saul Austerlitz published a book Generation Friends to give the audience an insight to behind-the-scene stories. The book does not only summarize the stories which have been known to everyone such as the casting selection or the salary system. It is said the sharing in the book is worthwhile and even huge fans will be enjoy reading and exploring. The book includes exclusive interviews with creators and producers and people who were present when the show was filmed. Joey and Monica were originally designed to be the romantic couple in the show, but Matt LeBlanc’s audition inspired the creator to make some adjustments. It also analyzes why the show is still popular after more than two decades.

Rachel and Ross break up in Season 4. Instinct kicks into everyone that there is no way for them to end up like this. According to Phoebe, lobsters mate for life. As everyone else, Phoebe believes that Rachel is destined to be with Ross. When Rachel gives up the job in Pairs and then be with Ross together, Phoebe repeats what she has claimed “he is her lobster”.

How you doing? -- Joey

Ross and Rachel have a fight and Rachel decides to break up with Ross. Ross then tries to kill the sadness by drinks and then sleeps with the girl in copy shop. Rachel originally decides to reunite with Ross after she cools off, but Ross’ affair infuriates her completely. Ross does not think it is fair to blame him for the break-up because technically, he is single when he sleeps with another woman. “We were on a break” then became his line to explain to others the one-night-stand accident is not the reason why Rachel breaks up with him.
